About

Hi there, my name is Ben Jongbloedt (phonetically youngblood). I am a software professional in Twin Cities who has been creating software since 2011. I really like using software to make tasks more efficient and easier to accomplish.

I have been able to wear many hats in my career so far, and I enjoy taking on new challenges as they come. Most recently I have been working on the backend / architecture side of development with a number of different technologies including Spring Boot, Aspnet MVC5, Python AWS lambdas, mysql, and more. I get the most enjoyment out of my job when I can architect/build a really clean, simple solution to a business problem. My favorite part about software architecture is the balance between building an abstract system that can survive business pivots and a specific system where a new developer can come in and immediately understand what is going on and what they need to do to solve a problem.

I have learned through my various experience so far that it is hard to beat a good team that communicates well. I strive to be that teammate that can help bridge the gaps between people in different roles with different communication styles. Technology is an important piece in software development, but great software is made my great teams.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family, working on various home improvement projects, or cooking.
